Fields of the ancestors

Fields of my ‘ancestors’ in the heart of Belgium
Actually these ancestors were only great grandparents in the early stages of 20th century.

They owned a kind of integrated farm, which means they grew lots of vegetables, many kinds of fruit, also mediterranean things like melons and tomatoes in greenhouses, and, as a side-activity, they also grew ornamental plants like f.i. chrysanthemums for the graveyards.

Everythyng was discarded though in the mid seventies, except for some commercial varieties of pears and apples, following the onset of cheap imports from the south of Europe and from North Africa.
